Let's Study the Book of John
Chapters 8-14

In order to understand what God can do for you and me in a verse-by-verse study of the Word of God, we must attempt such a study. I have chosen the Book of John. I would encourage you to read the book at least 5 times, and at least once all the way thought at one sitting.

Read John Chapter 8:1-59

06.08 (a) In John 8:1-11, we find the Scribes and Pharisees seeking to test Jesus. Who was really tested?
               Scribes and Pharisees.

06.08 (b) What promise does Jesus give to those who follow him?
                Shall not walk in darkness. Shall have the Light of the Life. Ref. 8:12

06.08 (c) Who is a servant of sin? Whosoever committeth sin. Ref. 8:24 

06.08 (d) What must we know to be set free from sin?  The truth. Ref. 8:32

06.08 (e) Who is able to make us free indeed? The Son.  Ref. 8:36

06.08 (f) Can anyone convict Christ of sin? No.  Ref. 8:46

06.08 (g) Did Jesus teach all people are the children of God? No.  Ref. 8:44

06.08 (h) Who is the father of lies? The Devil.  Ref. 8:44

06.08 (I) What did Jesus mean, "Before Abraham was I Am"?  He is God. "I Am" was God's name. Ref. Ex. 3:13,14

06.08 (j) Whom will you love if God is your Father? Christ. Ref. 8:42


Read John Chapter 9:1-41

06.09 (a) The Bible teaches sickness is sometimes a result of sin. Was this so in the case of the blind man?
               No.   Ref. 9:3

06.09 (b) In John 9:16, we read of a division among the Pharisees.
               (1) Some said This man is not of God, because He keepth not the Sabbath day.
               (2) Others said How can a man that is a sinner do such mircles?

06.09 (c) In John 9:4, Jesus indicated that we must use every opportunity that we find for serving God.
               Write John 9:4 here:          
               I must work the works of Him that send me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

06.09 (d) What had the Jews agreed to do to any man who confessed that Jesus was the Christ?        
               He should be put out of the synagogue.  Ref. 9:22

06.09 (e) According to the blind man, whom does God hear?          
               A worshipper of God, and he that doeth His will.  Ref. 9:31

06.09 (f) When the blind man who was healed was called by the Pharisees for the second time, there was something
               he said that he knew and something he said that he didn't know. What were these two things?
               I know I was blind, now I see.  Ref. 9:25
               I don't know whether he be a sinner.  Ref. 9:25

06.09 (g) When Jesus found the man after he had been cast out, what did he ask him?
                Dost thou believe on the Son of God?   Ref. 9:35

06.09 (h) What did the man reply? Who is he Lord, that I might believe on him?  Ref. 9:36          
                Christ's answer, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee. Ref. 9:37 
                The man says, Lord, I believe.  Ref. 9:38

                Because he influenced Jews to believe on Jesus.     Ref. 12:11    

06.12 (d) What did the crowd shout when they saw Jesus riding into the city? Hosanna: Blessed is the king of Israel
                that cometh in the name of the Lord.

06.12 (e) What must happen to a grain of wheat if it is to bear fruit?  Fall into the ground and die. Ref.12:24
