Dear Ralph & Susan:

We pray this note finds you both in good health and enjoying your spring days in the Lord.

Your interest in the Garwood project is much appreciated.  We have never taken on a project such as this before and covet the prayers of God's people to prepare the hearts of those children and families that may be reached through this VBS plan.

We are scheduled to hold VBS from Monday, February 14 thru Friday, February 18, 2011.  That would mean the travel dates would be just prior to and just after (except for those individuals who would be available to go down a few days early and/or stay a few days late to help prepare and clean-up).

We are also planning to refurbish the cabins by taking them down to their concrete bases and re-building with concrete block walls and a metal roof.  We will be running water and electric to the cabins as well.  We want them to be sealed up (no critters), and be able to be used as dormitory housing year round.  The purpose of this is to make them available to teams of helpers any time of year.  The difficulty previously has been that when students are out of school during the summer in the USA, it is winter in Uruguay and no water/heat was available for their housing (camping wouldn't be to good then either).

Another "project" that we've been working on is getting prices on items needed when the team comes down next February.  The present plan is for 3-4 men to arrive around February 4th to do some advance purchasing/work and set-up--so we don't have to do it all in addition to keeping up with the camp schedule and ministry responsibilities.  Then the larger part of the group will leave the States about the 10th (arriving here the 11th).

Part of the group will have Vacation Bible School February 14-18, 2011. We plan to have it in the morning at the church property.  We'd like to have a simplified one in another part of Pando, possibly in the home/yard of one of our SS families, in the afternoon.  Pray we'd have the Lord's direction as to the location of this second VBS.  Then the group would leave sometime after this week (by the 23rd).

Meantime the rest of the group will be working on making the cabins here available to be used year-round, also electrical work and some cabinet work.  We're excited to see how the Lord is putting the team together and for what they'll accomplish.  We're especially excited about the Vacation Bible School as we can't do that with just the two of us.   You can keep updated on this project at www.pastorflynn.com/garwood1.htm.  We are truly grateful to all in the States who are working to make this team, their ministry and work possible.  They are also very excited about this trip and being part of the ministry here.
