Chapter 2:18-29

Dear Church In Thyatira

I. Unto the Pastor of the church of Thyatira

Note: Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira,
opened her home for the beginning of this church - see Acts 16:14-15.

write: These things saith the Son of God

II. Thyatira is the "Corrupt" church.

III. I know
(A) thy works
(B) and charity (love)
(C) and service
(D) and faith
(E) thy patience

Note: They abused the patience of God to harden themselves in thier own wickedness.
(F) thy works

IV. Because thou permits (tolerates) that woman Jezebel

Note: Called Jezebel or like Jezebel. This could have been the
wife of the pastor or a worker in the church.

to teach
to seduce my servants
to commit fornication
to eat things sacrificed unto idols

V. And I have given her space to repent.
And she repented not.

VI. Death will come to all them that commit adultry with her;
except they repent of their deeds.

VII. All the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts.

Note: Most of our churches have the "L Problem".
Many are in the WOR"L"D more than they are in the WORD - (no "L")

forgiveness awaits for all who call out in repentance.

VIII. Christ said, “Hold fast till I come.”

Note: This should remind us of the old hymn "Hold the Fort For I Am Coming".

IX. He shall rule them with a rod of iron.

Note: This will be during the 1,000 year reign.

X. And I will give him the morning star.

XI. “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.
I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” (Rev. 22:16)
