The Four Beasts of Heaven


There is a throne in Heaven where God sits. Around the throne are 24 smaller thrones. On these thrones sit 24 elders. Also round about God’s throne are four beasts (living creatures).

I. These creatures have the ability to:
A. See before into the future
B. See behind into the past

II. The first creature was like a lion

III. The second creature was like a calf or ox

IV. The third creature had the face as a man

V. The fourth creature was like a flying eagle

VI. In Numbers 1:53-2:34 we find:
A. God in the center
B. Round about the tabernacle 4 beasts (tribe's symbols)
C. Also seen are standards (flags) with these ensigns (symbols):
1. On the south the tribe of Reuben - Their ensign was a man
2. On the west the tribe of Ephraim - Their ensign was an ox
3. On the east the tribe of Judah - Their ensign was a lion
4. On the north the tribe of Dan - - Their ensign was an eagle

Note: If you can remember the word "MOLE" you will be able to recall these four symbols:
MOLE = Man Ox Lion Eagle

VII. Compare Rev. 1:8 with Rev. 4:8. Who are they speaking about?
Rev. 1:8 speaks of Christ. Rev. 4:8 speaks of God.
Both are the same person which was, and is, and is to come.


VIII. What did the creatures do in Rev. 4:8,9? They worshipped God.
What happened in Isa. 6:1-3? They worshipped God
A. Both had wings
B. Both said Holy Holy Holy
C. Both gave God glory

XI. What did the 24 elders do in Rev. 4:10,11?
A. They fell down before Him and worshipped Him
B. They cast their crowns before Him

XII. God is to receive all: honor and glory
