Chapter 10:1-11

Lesson 21 with Answers
During Woe 2
The Little Book

I. Between the end of the sixth trumpet sound and the seventh trumpet sound is a parenthesis which adds nothing to move the events forward. It is a time of added information, but not added action. This parenthesis starts at Rev. 10:1 and ends at Rev. 11:14.

II. John sees another mighty angel, who comes down from heaven. In the Greek “another” means of the same kind.

III. In his hand was a little book open.

IV. His right foot is upon the sea
His left foot is upon the earth

V. His voice sounded like a lion that roareth.

VI. At the sound of his voice seven thunders spoke.

VII. John was instructed not to write what he heard.

Note: While revelation is primarily designed to reveal and not
to conceal God's purpose and future events,
some revelation was kept hidden.

VIII. According to verse 6, what would be no longer? Time
Note: There will be no more delay. Final judgment comes.

IX. In verse 8, John is told to go and take the little book which is open and in the hand of the angel.

X. In thy mouth the book is sweet as honey
In thy belly the book is bitter
Note: Sweet to believers, bitter to unbelievers, and Divine Judgment on both of them.

The fear and judgments of the Lord are sweeter
than the honey and the honeycomb PS 19:9-10

XI. John is to speak to many peoples about the future.
