The Choices We Make

I read with mixed reactions the series of articles concerning Ralph Flynn's letter on "God's judgment will be aginst the gay." This article was of interest to me because it was filled full of Biblical Scripture to backup Mr. Flynn's statements, not just his opinion.
I appreciated all he said and commend him on his courage to speak out.
However, when I read the article, "Disappointed in column," I was shocked and dismayed. This letter was signed by five of the pastors of the major denominations here in Bellevue.
I thought it interesting no scriptures were quoted to back up the pastors' claims.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not an ordained pastor, just a sinner saved by God's grace through the blood of Christ. (Romans 3:22-23, 5:8-9).
In their article, the five pastors assured all readers that gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender persons are individuals created by God. Am I to understand all the above mentioned were "created that way" by God? If so, then following that line of thought, we must also assume all murders, rapist, adulterers, child molesters, robbers, and the likes were equally "created that way."
Can you look into an innocent newborn's face and say, "There's a murderer, thief, or rapist?" No you cannot.
Rather, based on the choices that newborn makes later in life will determine whether that child is a murderer, thief, homosexual or a Christian.
We have become a society where nothing is our fault. We are not accountable for our impulses or actions. There are no absolutes. What was once considered criminal or an abomination is now considered acceptable. Isaiah the prophet foretold this in the Old Testament. (Isaiah 5:20)
The pastors' article went on to state prosecution of differencing sexual orientation is equivalent to racial minorities. I disagree. If someone was born black they cannot change their skin color. However, those that choose a sexual orientation other than what God deemed acceptable (Genesis 2:24) then they have made a choice. With choices come consequences.
We all are sinners. God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. God wants all to choose to become his children, but he doesn't force us to. We all have choices in our lives, but make no mistake, when the times comes, (Judgment - Hebrews 9:27) we all have to give an account for the choices we've made. (Corinthians 5:10) I hope and pray we all have chosen wisely.
My intent for this letter was not to offend anyone, bit to speak boldly for the cause of Christ. (Acts 4:29).
